Family of Woodstock Volunteer Orientation @ Family of Woodstock
Apr 6 @ 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Monday, April 6th, 2015 3-4pm
Family of Woodstock, 39 John Street, Kingston, NY

Learn about the many ways you can be a part of Family. Whether helping out at one of our walk-in centers in Ellenville, New Paltz or Woodstock, answering the Hotline, working with our Events Team or helping to landscape or paint one of the shelters, volunteers show that people care. Family can always use help at our fundraising events. Have fun and help out at the same time! That simple human connection is a powerful healer. FAMILY welcomes volunteers all year round. You may know someone who volunteers with FAMILY already. Many of your neighbors staff our 24-hour Hotlines at FAMILY’S three Walk In Centers. Others garden, run food drives and provide professional services. They offer cooking and art classes and mentor our clients in their job searches. Volunteers give our services a very special quality. Volunteering at Family has tremendous benefits: It’s a great way to get to know people in your community. It’s a chance to learn new skills while making a difference. It’s a way to contribute where you live. Ready to get started? Join us on Monday, April 6th at our administrative office at 39 John Street in Kingston from 3-4pm and become a part of Family. Contact Kelly or Beth at 331-7080 or volunteers@familyofwoodstockinc.org to register.

BIG $$$ RAFFLE VIRTUAL DRAWING
Sep 12 @ 3:00 pm

Dear Friends,

This is FAMILY’S 50th Anniversary and we had planned a major gala and concert to celebrate and honor the agency. Then the pandemic came along, and we must say, it’s very fitting for FAMILY to have to delay its celebration to respond to community crises. We’re hoping to celebrate next year, but in the meantime, everyone needs a distraction, so we’re bringing forth FAMILY’S BIG $$$ Raffle. As with last year, the ticket price will be $25/each and the grand prize will be $15,000. Because we are not sure that people will be safe to travel, we have shifted the 2nd and 3rd prizes to be $5,000 and $2,500 cash prizes, respectively. The fully array of prizes is listed below.

Since 1970, FAMILY has become a major provider of case management and crisis intervention services concerning such issues as domestic violence, homelessness, youth development, child care, and food security. We believe that the common ground which unites us, both helper and helped, is greater than the differences which divide us, and that everyone deserves the respect and support of our larger community. The Big $$$ Raffle supports FAMILY’s 22 programs.

It was a challenge to figure out where we will do the drawing. At this point, holding an event seems counter to safety protocols. Instead, we will hold a Virtual Raffle Drawing, working with Radio Kingston, on Saturday, September 12th at 3:00pm. Visit our Family of Woodstock, Inc. Facebook page to watch the drawing live.

Sincerely,

FAMILY’s Board of Directors
